May 1, 2016

Every artist is inspired by the works of those that came before them. Warhol was this to Banksy.

This summer, the Moco Museum will open its doors with its very first exhibition. It will comprise of works by famous street artist Banksy and the classic Andy Warhol!

The brand new Modern Contemporary (Moco) Museum, is joining the great cultural institutions on the Museumplein in Amsterdam. Over 80 works by the two artists will be showcased. Including the 3×4 metre “Beanfield” by Banksy, and “Marilyn” by Andy Warhol.

The Moco Museum

To make this happen, the Moco Museum is borrowing works from an international network. The art house is located in the city villa “Alsberg”, between the Van Gogh Museum and the Rijksmuseum.

Their plan is to appeal to young crowds by focusing on proven pioneers, the “Rock Stars of Art” within various art movements. This initiative promises to be a valuable addition of modern art to the Amsterdam museum scene.
